Pastoral Severance - This is a very important and yet complex area of human resource and tax law. Churches are not exempt from following the general law in this area of operation. To serve as a guideline for you, we’ve obtained legal opinion for you with respect to a church’s approach to this important matter. As you review, you need to know that we asked counsel for a conservative, no-loopholes opinion. In other words, give us very safe ground for handling this matter. It doesn’t represent the only way you could handle such a matter however. As always in complex matters like this, you would be wise to seek your own counsel before taking action. Hopefully, what we have here will be of help as you negotiate this human resource reality.
Pastor’s Retirement Plan – This retirement plan is open to pastors and employees of member churches that are affiliated through CBAmerica regions. The Plan is a “403(b) Plan” that has been specifically designed to meet the retirement needs of the participants.
Tax Exempt – 501c3 Information - If you are a member church of SWCC / SWCBA, just email or call CBAmerica with your information and CBA will make out a letter stating that the church is under our 501c3 group ruling complete with documentation of our tax exempt status.
